Need a smoke at Kolkata Airport? Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) has designated smoking rooms both before and after security. Here is where to find them.
Inside Terminal - Smoking Rooms
Kolkata Airport maintains several enclosed smoking rooms throughout the terminal. Unlike many Indian airports that have gone completely smoke-free indoors, CCU still offers designated smoking lounges.
International Departures
After Security Check, there are two smoking rooms available in the international departure hall
Head towards the left side from security - the smoking zone is at the end of the hall
Another smoking room is located near Gates 8 and 9
Domestic Departures
From the Security Check area, turn right and walk to the end of the hall - you will find the Smoking Zone there
The room is clearly marked with signage
Arrivals
Domestic Arrivals: Just before the exit, at the end of the hallway to the right
This is convenient if you need a quick smoke after a long flight before heading out
Check-in Area (Landside)
Smoking rooms are available in the check-in area across the terminal
Look for signage or ask airport staff for the nearest one
Outside Terminal - Smoking Areas
If you prefer fresh air, smoking is permitted at designated outdoor areas and near the parking zone. Just step outside the terminal and look for the marked smoking spots.

Cigarettes are not sold inside the airport - bring your own
The smoking rooms have ventilation systems but can get crowded during peak hours
Smoking outside the designated areas is prohibited and attracts fines under Indian tobacco control laws
Security staff can direct you to the nearest smoking room if you cannot find one
